How will our teams be formed in 2019?

Where possible, we will keep players together from Term 4 of 2018. However, many players from years 6 and 8 will be changing schools and grades, so there will be some changes. If teams have dominated the results in their grade they will be lifted up to the next division. If teams have struggled, we will discuss with coaches how best to manage this. We will look at any new players and find a place for them, rather than holding another trial for all club members.

Where can I find the draw?

All games are scheduled on the CricHQ scoring website. The schedule comes out during the week – WBOP has a policy of having winners play winners, losers v losers, to try to ensure even games. The best place to find the draw is by following this link: https://bopcricket.co.nz/fixtures-and-results/bay-of-plenty-cricket-association. You will then have to select Western Bay of Plenty" and then the appropriate division that your team is in (eg "Division 2 Gold", or "Intermediate Reserve"). The draws are put online by Western Bay of Plenty Cricket Association's coordinator Don Warner, usually by Wednesday of each week.

Can I join after registration closes?

If you miss the registration dates please still contact us on mmjc.membership@gmail.com and we will endeavour to find a spot for your child. Our registration page is at https://mountjuniorcricket.co.nz/register

What is CricHQ?

CricHQ is both a scoring app and a website where statistics on every player, team and game are kept online. It is usually used in grades from Division 1 onwards. You can find your child's playing statistics by visiting www.crichq.com and then searching for your child's name or team. If you are a scorer, you can download CricHQ for freed from the Playstore (Android devices) or Appstore (for iPad/iPhone devices). You will then need to set up a CricHQ account for free at www.crichq.com, and request administrative rights for your team by emailing Don Warner at wbopca@gmail.com, with a copy to mmjc.membership@gmail.com. Please allow a day or two for this process before your first game.

What about representative cricket teams?

Each year in term 4 the Western Bay of Plenty Cricket Association will nominate selectors for representative teams. Usually there will be a trial held for each year group starting from a combined year 4/5 age. Teams are selected for matches against neighbouring associations such as Hamilton, Waikato Valley, Gisborne, as well as to attend a 3-4 day North Island rep competition in Hawke's Bay during January. Find out more about these camps here. We will let coaches and teams know about the trials when we find out about them.
