The Mount Maunganui Junior Cricket Club is part of the Western Bay of Plenty Cricket Association, which feeds into the Bay of Plenty and Northern Districts associations at a higher level. Cricket is played on Saturday mornings for almost all of our players up to Year 8, with a midweek practice after school (on Thursdays for most teams).
College players can choose whether to play midweek T20 cricket, or longer format games on Saturday afternoons. Our youngest players start off in our Superstars of Cricket Academy which provides one hour of cricket skills coaching from 4:00pm on Thursdays, on the incredible Bay Oval international ground.
To help you choose which grade your child should be in, here is a guide. We will be checking to make sure everyone is in the right grade to develop their cricket in a fun, fair and safe way. Superstars and College T20 games are played midweek; College Reserve, Elite and Adult Cricket are played on Saturday afternoons, and all other cricket is played on Saturday mornings.
The fees to join our club are $60 per term, plus the cost of a uniform shirt and cap or hat. The uniform items are yours to keep once you've bought them. Shirts are high quality sublimated polos costing $45.00 each, and caps or floppy hats are $20. Our uniform will be refreshed in Term 1 of 2020 so if you can make do with what you have until then, that's a good idea. You are welcome to buy, sell or trade uniform items on our club Facebook page. Ask to join by searching Mount Maunganui Junior Cricket Club.
